A Border Patrol agent was among three people killed in a helicopter crash flying over the U.S.-Mexico border on Friday.

Authorities on Sunday identified the agent as 49-year-old Chris Luna, the Associated Press reports.

Also killed were two National Guard soldiers – Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Frankoski, 28, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Grassia, 30.

Another National Guard soldier remained in the hospital Sunday after sustaining serious injuries.

The UH-72 Lakota helicopter crashed in a field in Texas near Rio Grande City.

The helicopter, which went down while conducting aviation operations, was assigned to the federal government’s border security mission.

In a statement, acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller said the agency was “heartbroken” by the death of Luna, who is survived by his wife and two children, parents and brother.
