A Border Patrol agent is in critical condition after a tornado ripped through a home he shared with other agents in Texas on Sunday and tossed him 200 feet into the air.

Agent Edgar Barraza, 38, was in ICU on Monday with broken bones, internal bleeding and facial fractures, authorities told the Daily Mail

The twister tore through the mobile home, where four Border Patrol agents lived in Sanderson, just after Barraza finished his day shift.

Glass blew into the eyes of another Border Patrol agent.

The tornado touched down around 7:30 p.m., said Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland, who spotted the twister.

“We were watching the storm that was supposed to go north of us, and then it started changing course,” Cleveland

“We started seeing a funnel cloud clearly, so I posted it immediately and told people to take cover.”

The tornado damaged about 10 homes and injured a dozen people.

CBP is sending agents to assist.

The storm did not impact the Border Patrol station in Sanderson, where the homeless agents may end up living temporarily.
