The FBI arrested four dozen alleged members of the Gangster Disciples, including a Georgia police officer, nationwide.
The FBI’s Memphis offie said members of the Chicago-based organization faces charges of participating in “a racketeering enterprise that included multiple murders, attempted murder and drug crimes.”
Of those arrested, 30 were indicted in Georgia and 15 in Tennessee. Others hailed from Chicago, Alabama, California, Colorado, Detroit, Kansas and Wisconsin.
Included in the charges were 10 homicides, 12 attempted homicides and drug trafficking.
Vancito Gumbs, an officer for the DeKalb County Police Department, also is accused of carrying out orders for the Disciples.
