The FBI is on the hunt for an Iranian spy accused of plotting to assassinate former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other officials.

Majid Dastjani Farahani, 41, is wanted for questioning by federal agents, according to a notice issued by the bureau’s Miami Field Office.

The FBI believes Farahani has been actively recruiting “individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former United States Government officials as revenge” for the U.S.-ordered killing of Iranian Commander Qasem Soleimani in January 2020.

The U.S. accused Soleimani of “actively developing plans” to attack American diplomats in Iraq and other areas in the region.

It’s unclear who else Farahani is accused of plotting to kill.

Farahani speaks Farsi, English, Spanish and French and reportedly has ties to Venezuela.

“Farahani and Ardestani also recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities in the United States,” a Treasury press release in December stated.
