Inspector General to Investigate How Maryland Was Chosen as New FBI HQ

The Inspector General for the General Services Administration (GSA) said Thursday that it will look into how the GSA selected Maryland as the new home of the FBI headquarters, NBC News reports.

“Our objective will be to assess the agency’s process and procedures for the site selection to relocate the FBI Headquarters,” Robert Erickson, the acting inspector general at the General Services Administration, wrote in a letter Thursday to Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va.

Virginia lawmakers, who had advocated for their state to host the headquarters, have been pushing for the probe after after FBI Director Christopher Wray raised concerns this month about “a potential conflict of interest,” NBC reportss.
